Hi, Iām Courtney
Senior UX Designer, systems thinker, mentor. Lover of birds š¦ and corgis š¾.
With 13+ years of experience as a UX Designer, I specialise in making complex organisational challenges feel simple. Through my work with regulatory processes and background checking systems, I've learned that the best solutions come from understanding the whole system, not just the surface problem. Always ask why.
Bringing order to chaos through design
My approach combines stakeholder collaboration with hands-on design execution. Whether I'm facilitating cross-functional workshops, conducting user research, or establishing design systems that scale across organisations, I focus on solutions that work for both users and business constraints.
Building design capability
For several years, I was the sole designer at my workplace, often wishing I had someone to learn from. That experience drives my passion for mentoring. Since 2018, I've guided designers through Murdoch University's mentoring program and taken junior designers under my wing with one philosophy: "There is no such thing as a stupid question."
Mentoring brings me immense satisfaction because it allows me to share hard-won insights about navigating complex stakeholder relationships, building evidence-based design practices, and growing from tactical execution to strategic influence. Watching others develop confidence in their design decisions and seeing them succeed reinforces why I'm passionate about building the next generation of design leaders.
